Cluj-Napoca will host the Romanian International Athletics Championships this month

This year’s edition of the Romanian International Athletics Championships “Iolanda Balaş Soter” will be organized at the Cluj Arena in the city of Cluj-Napoca on August 22-23, the Romanian Athletics Federation (FRA) announced, local News.ro reported.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will be held without spectators.

“The federation wants to offer Romanian athletes the opportunity to compete even in these difficult conditions and also to keep uninterrupted the series of the Romanian International Championships, a competition that reaches its 65th edition this year,” the FRA said.

The Romanian Athletics Federation is to announce the championships’ program this week. Athletes can register on the federation’s website until August 17.
