Former Romanian county council president gets four-year prison sentence

Nicolae Iotcu, the former president of the Arad county council, was sentenced to four years in prison for influence peddling, after the Timisoara Court of Appeal rejected all the appeals in this case yesterday.

otcu was first sentenced to four years in prison at the end of March by the Timis Court. He was accused of influence peddling for a contract at the Arad Emergency Hospital.

Adrian Nedelciu, the former technical director of the Arad county council, received two years in prison in the same case. Alin Patrascu, the representative of the pharma company, was accused with buying influence and received a suspended sentence of one year and nine months.
