The Romanian short film Superman, Spiderman or Batman directed by Tudor Giurgiu (in picture), won the prize for best short film at the European Academy of Film Gala on Saturday (December 1 ).

During his acceptance speech, Tudor Giurgiu added that he was very happy to receive the prize on his home country's National Day:  "It's a film that I care about very much and made with people very dear to me,” said the director.

Superman, Spiderman or Batman tells the story of Aaron, a boy aged five years, who wishes, like a comic book hero, to save his family from their misfortunes and cure his mother's heart condition.

This is the second award recently received by the Romanian director. In October, Tudor Giurgiu and his team won the grand prize at international festival of short films "Manhattan Short" for the same film. The film was also awarded at three other festivals and will most likely be nominated for an Oscar.
