Bucharest airport, fourth for air traffic increase

Bucharest’s Henri Coanda International Airport ranks fourth in the European ranking of the airports that recorded the highest increase in air traffic in 2014.

The ranking included airports with 5 -10 million passengers.

The airports in Basel, Lanzarote (Canary Islands) and Napoli occupy the first three places while the airport in Porto ranks fifth.

The Airports Council International-Europe, the association of airport operators, has put together the ranking.

The two airports in Bucharest, the Henri Coanda International Airport, and Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, recorded last year a record number of more than 8 million passengers and more than 100,000 landings and takeoffs. The number of travellers that entered the Bucharest airports increased by 8.8% in 2014.
