Romania’s junior gymnastics team got the bronze at the European Championships in Sofia, where Russians received gold, and the British team, the silver medal.
The senior gymnastics team is due to compete on Thursday, May 15.
The junior team is made of Laura Jurcă, Andreea Iridon, Anda Butuc, Andra Stoica and Andreea Ciurusniuc. Four of them also qualified in the finals of the individual competition.
Laura Jurca led Romania’s third-place team effort, qualifying third to the all-around and to three event finals, according to the organizers.
Romania’s team of seniors is made of Larisa Iordache, Diana Bulimar, Ştefania Stănilă, Andreea Munteanu, Silvia Zarzu. The first two are multiple international award winners.
The European Championships take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, between May 12 and 18.
