ASF: average Pillar II account rose by half the contribution paid by subscribers over past 12 months
The average account of a contributor to Pillar II pension funds was RON 12,967 (EUR 2,620) – 12.4% more than a year ago in March 2022, according to the report of the Romanian financial authority ASF quoted by Ziarul Financiar.
The average monthly contribution was RON 249 (EUR 50), 14.57% more than a year earlier, according to the report.
Based on this information, it means that the increase in the average Pillar II account increased by nearly EUR 290 since March 2022 – although the contributor paid, on average, EUR 565 over the same period of time.
The weighted average rate of return of all privately managed (Pillar II) pension funds was 4.47% as of March 2023, up from the end of 2022 (4.13%), Ziarul Financiar also announced based on the ASF report.
