Ten medals for Romania at Tuymaada International Olympiad in Russia

Romanian students won ten medals at the multidisciplinary Tuymaada International Olympiad organized in the Republic of Saka, Russia, between July 5 and July 11.

The students won medals in all four sections of the competition, namely chemistry, mathematics, computer science and physics, according to a statement of the Romanian Ministry of Education.

Cristian Robert Raclea won gold in the chemistry section while Maria Velicu and Sabina-Giorgiana Firtala got silver. In the math section, both Andreea Dima and Mihnea-Gabriel Doica won bronze.

The Romanian team did even better in the computer science section, where Darius Marian and Andrei Costin Oncescu won gold medals, and Vlad Mihai Rochian got silver.

Also Iulian Robert Raveanu and Mihai Ovidiu Popa won two silver medals for Romania in the physics section.

Over 150 competitors from six countries participated at this year’s edition of the Olympiad.
