Romanian Central Bank governor’s winery posts record turnover
Mar SA, the wine company of Central Bank governor Mugur Isarescu, posted a record turnover last year. The business amounted to EUR 650,000 in 2014, from EUR 530,000 in 2013 and EUR 600,000 in 2012.
The company, which produces wines under the Casa Isarescu brand, saw a net profit of EUR 109,000 in 2014, slightly down compared to 2013, reports local Economica.net.
Isarescu’s winery has been profitable every year since 2007. It was working with 16 people at the end of last year.
The Central Bank governor produces 100,000 bottles of wine a year.
