Romania scores better in economic freedom ranking

Romania has climbed five positions in a ranking on economic freedom worldwide.

The study, carried out by the US research foundation Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal, places Romania on the 57th place among 178 countries, reports local Mediafax.

With a 66.6 score, Romania surpasses countries such as Portugal, France, Italy or Greece, but is behind Hungary, Bulgaria or Macedonia.

Hong Kong ranked first, for the 21st year in a row.

Romania scored better this year on different areas, such as freedom from corruption, government spending liberty or work freedom.
