Private medical recovery hospital to open in Romania’s Cluj after EUR 10 mln investment

16 October 2014

The Romanian shareholders of Energobit, which supplies services and equipment for electricity networks, will invest EUR 10 million in a medical recovery hospital in Cluj – Napoca, in central Romania.

The Socea family, the investors in this private hospital, aims to enter a market segment which is less targeted by medical providers. “Most investments made so far in healthcare focus on treating the acute phase of diseases,” said Tudor Socea, the board president.

The new hospital will be called Polaris and will become functional mid-2015. It will cover some 11,000 sqm in the Western region of Cluj, in the village of  Suceagu. Polaris will be located within a 58,000 sqm green area.

It will have 220 beds, imaginery and lab services, offering the needed support for medical recovery. About 400 doctors will work in this hospital, as the project initiators would like to help bring back many of the Romanian doctors who currently work abroad.
