EBRD grants EUR 10 mln loan to Romanian TV cable services provider

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted a EUR 10 million loan to local TV cable services provider Digital Cable Systems, which operates in Romania under the Akta brand.

The company will use the money to expand and modernize its TV and broadband networks and the digital and internet services. The project’s total investment value amounts to EUR 28 million, reports local Mediafax. The company also plans to launch new services.

EBRD granted Digital Cable Systems another EUR 15 million loan in 2012 to support the firm’s development strategy. The company, which was founded in 2005, after several TV cable operators merged, is controlled by the investment fund PineBridge New Europe Partners, which has EBRD as partner.
