Barosso will attend, along with officials in fourteen Danube countries, the last summit on the EU Strategy for the Danube Region before the final adoption of the strategy by the European Commission, on December 8.

Two expats have joined the Penny Market management board. Frank Wagner is the company's new general manager for Romania, replacing Marcel Thiele, who had been running the company for the last four years. Frank Wagner was promoted from the Chief Operational Officer position.

Schuldt has been living and working in Romania since 2005 and currently leads the company's grain and oilseeds operations in the country. He takes over the role of Romanian country representative from Nese Tagma, who has taken up a new position based in Belgium to manage Cargill's European bottled oils operations.

Around 100 of the most powerful people in the world attended the Trilateral Commission's European meeting, held in the Romanian capital city between October 15 and 17. It was for the first time Romania hosted the event of the commission, which is often referred to as the world shadow government.

She will also visit the Babes- Bolyai university in Cluj, where she will receive the Doctor Honors Causa title. Merkel will also attend the inauguration of the German Studies Institute at the Babes- Bolyai university.

Tudor Bercan is the new territory manager for the South Eastern Europe with Polycom. He has been promoted from the channel manager position. Bercan, who joined Polycom in April 2007, will now supervise the entire SEE business for Polycom.
