Unemployment rate in Romania down to 5.41% in April

The unemployment rate in Romania fell to 5.41 percent in April from 5.92 percent in March, the number of unemployed reaching 493,438 people, according to the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM). In April last year, the unemployment rate was 8.07 percent.

Male unemployment rate fell in April to 5.90 percent from 6.52 percent in March, while the female unemployment rate declined from 5.24 percent to 4.85 percent.

The highest level of unemployment rate in Romania has been recorded in Vaslui county, north of Romania, with 10.15 percent. Decreases in the unemployment rate were recorded in all counties and in Bucharest, the most significant decreases being recorded in Covasna County. In Bucharest, the unemployment rate fell to 0.05 percent.
