The average speed on Romania’s national roads to decrease by 2020

The average speed on the national and local roads in Romania will decrease by 2020, according to a document of the Transportation Master Plan, which also indicates an increase in speed in the case of highways and recommends a more expensive road tax, according to Ziarul Financiar.

On highways, the average speed might increase from 123.2 km/h to 126.5 km/h, but for the national roads decreases from 65.8 km/h to 65.2 km/h are predicted. The average speed on local roads will also decrease from 32.5 km/h to 32 km/h.

For county roads, the average speed is expected to remain at 45.6 km/h.
