Romtelecom and Cosmote to operate under Telekom Romania brand starting this autumn

15 August 2014

Romanian telecom companies Romtelecom and Cosmote will change their legal names to Telekom Romania Communications and Telekom Romania Mobile Communications respectively, and will operate under Telekom Romania brand starting this autumn.

“Following the shareholders’ decisions for each of the companies, Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania announce their new official names. Thus, starting mid-September, Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania will operate under the same brand: Telekom Romania, while the legal names will be Telekom Romania Communications SA (instead of Romtelecom SA) and Telekom Romania Mobile Communications SA (instead of Cosmote Romanian Mobile Telecommunications SA),” reads a joint statement of the two companies, cited by local Mediafax.

According to the statement, a total of 43 corporate stores will be entirely renovated by the end of the year, in line with the new identity. The two operators will also have a single call center, a single website and a single online presence for all users of fixed and mobile services.

The two telecom companies are owned by Deutsche Telekom via Greek OTE.

Romanian Romtelecom sees 4% higher revenues in H1, but no growth for Cosmote.
