The sale of properties which are still in the design phase resumed in the first half of this year, according to real estate consultancy firm Re/Max Romania.

“One of the trends of the 2006-2008 real estate boom has returned on the local market. Even if buyers now have other criteria to purchase a home, more and more choose to buy buildings at an early stage, after they see the projects,” said Razvan Cuc, Re/Max Romania general manager.

The residential real estate market increased by 5% in the first half of the year. In Bucharest and other big cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, and Iasi several residential projects were completed in this period, while others are under construction.
