10 November 2014

In Romanians’ opinion, doctors have the most demanding job, followed by pilots and firefighters, according to a top made by integrative medicine solutions company Secom, cited by local Capital. The top is completed, in this order, by teachers, IT experts, professional drivers, lawyers and judges, and financial experts.

In the selection process, Romanians took into account stress factors such as extra working hours, the size of projects and the required energy, the required level of responsibility and focus, working with deadlines, interaction with difficult people, the pressure to find quick solutions and the high degree of physical or mental risk.

Secom’s study also reveals that 8 out of 10 Romanians feel the effects of stress through various symptoms or diseases.

When referring to their own profession, 75% of respondents say they are stressed and overworked, while 1 out of 10 shows an intense level of stress. Most of them have jobs such as professor or teacher, IT expert or programmer.

Over 80% of those overburdened at work have symptoms associated with stress, most of them complaining of excessive and prolonged fatigue – 85%, or have problem sleeping and headaches – 65%, reports Capital.
