PM: Romania, most stable country in the region for economic and military perspectives

04 March 2015

In the current regional context, Romania remained the most stable country in the region in terms of economic, military and political perspectives, according to Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

He added that the idea of stability and predictability is essential given Romania’s increasing trend and the favorable economic situation at the beginning of the year.

“What it is important is that we have a favorable context with higher revenues and that the first two months were better than expected. Things can’t change overnight and the only thing that is very important and can radically influence a process, a trend, is the regional situation,” Ponta said in a TV show, reports local Agerpres.

Taking into account the external situation, including the crisis in Ukraine, Russia’s pressures related to energy and the situation in Greece, Romania remained the most stable country in the region from the economic point of view, as well as in political and military terms, added the Prime Minister.

“It is important to tell those who invest in Romania, to assure them that we’ll not change the flat tax, that the social security contribution CAS and the VAT will be cut,” he added.
