Orange Romania, the biggest telecom group on the local market, recorded a turnover of EUR 275 million in the second quarter of this year, up by 3.4% compared to the same period of 2017, the company announced.

The increase was mainly driven by a positive evolution on the mobile services subscriber segment, fixed-mobile services, and equipment sales, according to the company. At the end of June, Orange had 10.537 million clients on the local market. Some 3.6 million clients were using 4G data services, up 35% over the same period of 2017.

The mobile data traffic through the Orange network thus went up by 80% in the second quarter of this year when compared to the same period of last year.

The company’s 4G network covered 95.1% of the country’s population and the 4G+ network covered 139 cities in Romania, at the end of June.

Orange also continued to increase its client base for fixed services. Thus, the number of Orange Home TV clients, through cable and satellite, reached 448,000, up 12.6% versus Q2 2017, and the number of fixed broadband internet clients reached 234,000.
