Marius Hagger, general manager of media company Ringier Romania, will leave his position in Romania at the beginning of next year. He will be then joining the NZZ media group in Switzerland. Hagger has been working for Ringier in Romania since March 2008 as the general manager for the Romanian subsidiary. Ringier is yet to announce who will take his seat.

Christian Bruckner is the new director in charge with Operations & IT for local lender BCR. His naming requires the approval from the Romanian central bank (BNR). Bruckner takes on the attributions from Oana Petrescu, who is now vice-president of retail and private banking with BCR

The president of Israel, Shimon Peres will make an official visit to Romania in August, according to the ambassador of Israel to Bucharest, David Oren. Oren, who attended the second Congress of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, said this visit will be an opportunity to deepen the bilateral relations between Romania and Israel.

Kraft Foods has appointed Gerard Chandran as its new general manager for Romania, the company has announced. Chandran joined Kraft Foods in 2006, when he took over the management in South Africa, after his term in the management team of Gilette.

Razvan Sin is the new head of the retail department with DTZ Echinox, the firm has announced. He will replace Aura Voiculescu, who has stepped down to pursue a business school abroad. Razvan Sin has joined the real estate consultancy firm in 2007.

Mahmoud Abbas, president of the National Palestinian Authority, is visiting Romania today and tomorrow (July 12, 13), invited by the Romanian president Traian Basescu. Abbas will meet the Romanian president, as well as the prime minister Emil Boc and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Roberta Anastase.

Jean Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank, will come to Romania at the beginning of September, when the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) will celebrate 130 years of activity. An invitation was also sent to Ben Bernake, the head of the Federal reserves Systems in the US.
