Romanian Rombat starts to export batteries to South Africa and Middle East

Romanian manufacturer of automotive batteries Rombat will expand its distribution area to the South Africa and Middle East, according to the company. Rombat recently signed a contract with a company in Lebanon. Thus, the number of countries where the Romanian company delivered batteries amounts to 25, including Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Slovakia, Russia, and Morocco.

The Romanian manufacturer posted a turnover of EUR 52 million in January-September 2011, up 19.8 percent compared to the same period in 2010. Of this amount, EUR 33 million represents exports, up 33.9 percent compared to the same period last year, according to Rombat.

In the first nine months of this year, the company produced over 1.5 million batteries, of which, over 900,000 batteries were made for export. Currently, the company develops a EUR 16 million project for expanding the production. The amount is equally covered by the company and the Romanian Government.

Rombat has its headquarters in the Romanian city of Bistrita, and has ten logistics centers across the country.
