Rugs exhibition and conference to be organized at the Romanian Cultural Institute in NY this March

Romanian Stefano Ionescu, an independent scholar in Oriental carpets and a leading scholar in  Anatolian carpets in Transylvania, was invited by the Romanian Cultural Institute ICR New York for an exhibit and a conference on a comparative study between Oriental and Romanian kilims.

The conference named Ottoman Rugs and Romanian Folk Kilims will take place at ICR New York Auditorium, on March 6, 2014, from 19:00.

During the event, Stefano Ionescu will speak about traditional stylized floral ornamentation and geometric patterns and natural fibers and dye, in a visually rich presentation of beautiful rugs and charming Romanian landscapes, according to ICR New York.

Visitors and members of Hajji Baba Club attending the event will also admire kilims from private collections.
