Romgaz, the largest natural gas producer in Romania, has found the equivalent of 3% of its daily production in two of the most mature exploited areas in its portfolio.

“The production decline slowdown in the last four years confirms the existing potential in exploration perimeters and development phases,” said Dumitru Rotar, deputy general director for exploration and production within Romgaz, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

The company will focus on finding solutions to increase productivity and the recovery of old deposits, as well as on finding new oil & gas deposits, Rotar said.

The company has started the trial exploitation of two new accumulations discovered in the Suceava and Mures counties. These two new wells produce the equivalent of 3% of the company’s natural gas daily production.
