Romania’s future energy strategy could be completed by September or October this year and will focus on energy security, said Energy Minister Andrei Gerea, cited by local Mediafax.

He said that it would be better if the re-industrialization strategy were finalized before the energy one.

The new energy strategy pursues supply security and keeping an affordable price for consumers, according to the report released by the Energy Department.

The sector requires investments of up to EUR 100 billion by 2035, reads the document.

The report presents the current state of the national energy system, the targets for 2015-2035 and Romania’s commitments to the European Commission.
