Unemployment rate reaches 6.5% in Romania in March

Romania’s unemployment rate was 6.5% in March 2015, up 0.1% over the previous month and down 0.5% compared to March 2014.

The number of jobless aged 15 to 74 in March was 594,000, according to the National Institute of Statistics. It went down from February (597,000 unemployed), as well as compared to March 2014 (644,000).

The unemployment rate for men, 6.7%, surpasses by 0.5% the unemployment rate for women, which stands at 6.2%.

The jobless rate among adults was 5.1% in March. The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represents 72.9% of the total unemployed in March.
