Stihl Romania, part of the German group STIHL, plans to invest EUR 3 million in changing its stores and in developing its network, the company has announced.

Stihl Romania is one of the main local importers of chainsaws and other handheld power equipment.

“We have developed a new concept of commercial space, a so-called ‘flagship store’ that we’ll implement among our dealers by the end of 2015. This development will mean an investment of EUR 3 million that will be directed towards increasing the sale spaces, changing the display systems for the stores, organization and training,” said Ioan Mezei, general manager of Stihl Romania.

The company’s network currently includes some 200 dealers which operate around 300 stores and service areas. Stihl also plans to add 20 more distributors to its network this year.

Stihl is a family business started in Germany by Andreas Stihl. The company produces chainsaws and other handheld power equipment. In 2013, the group’s revenues amounted to EUR 2.8 billion, slightly up from the previous year.

Stihl Romania was founded in 1997. Last year, the company had a EUR 23 million turnover and a EUR 3.16 million net profit, according to official data.
