06 October 2014

Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau and his doubles partner Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands beat Julian Benneteau and Vasek Pospisil 6-7(6), 7-5, 10-5 on Sunday, October 5, and won their seventh title of the year at the China Open in Beijing.

The Dutch-Romanian duo won their second title in a row, after winning the Shenzhen Open last week.

"I'm excited," said Tecau in a statement posted on ATP world Tour’s website. "Besides the two titles, we've been playing well. We were looking at these two weeks in China as good for us, good conditions that suit our game. We're happy we were able to execute and get two titles. Hopefully we can keep it up for another week."

Tecau and Rojer are competing for a place in the ATP World Tour Finals in London, which start at the end of October and bring together the eight best men tennis players in the world this year and the eight best doubles teams. They are currently sixth in the year-to-date ATP standings, also known as the Race to London.
