Romanian Dafora wins EUR 15 mln contract to drill for geothermal waters in Germany

Romanian drilling company Dafora, controlled by investor Gheorghe Calburean, has won a EUR 15 million contract to drill for geothermal waters in Germany, for GeothermSolarpark Nordhastedt GmbH, the company has announced. The contract expands over two years, with the possibility to extend it. This is Dafora's first contract in Germany and the company wants to balance its local and its international contracts in the future.

Dafora, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, has also started to bore the first drilling for American company Hunt Oil in Romania. Dafora started works on the 20 Adjud drilling for OMV Petrom and Hunt Oil, that are working in partnership for this project. It has also won a EUR 23 million contract with oil and gas company Petrom for drilling oil wells and installations. The contract will last for four years and can be extended by another year.
