Retail trade turnover grows year-on-year in July but goes down in seven months in Romania

The retail trade turnover in Romania grew by 0.1 percent in July compared to the same month of 2010, mainly due to the growth of the retail with fuel, according to the country's National Statistics Institute. Fuel retail in specialized stores brought an increase of 3.2 percent in trade, while non-food products increased in trade by 1.6 percent in July. On the other hand, food, beverages and tobacco products dropped in retail by 4.1 percent.

The month-on-month increase in retail trade in Romania was of 3.4 percent in July this year, according to statistics. However, the first seven months of the year brought a drop of 5.2 percent in retail trade in Romania due to the drop of sales in food, beverages and tobacco products.
