ING Bank Romania will close all the physical cash desks by October 29, as it plans to turn its local branches into self-service units, local Profit.ro reported. Once this transition is completed, customers will be able to make deposits and withdrawals of currency at the bank's ATMs, while bank transfers will be operated directly from the Internet banking app. The lender previously announced its plan to move to a self-service business model in February this year. ING is one of the top ten banks in Romania, serving 1.2 million individual clients. The bank reached a net profit of RON 345 million (EUR 74 million) in the first half of this year, up 35% compared to the same period of 2017. Irina Marica, irina.marica@romania-insider.com
