Works of art worth over EUR 14 mln on display at Art Safari in downtown Bucharest

Works of art evaluated at over EUR 14 million will go on display at this year’s edition of Art Safari. The event opens on Thursday, May 12, at Dacia-Romania Palace in Bucharest’s Old Town.

The most valuable artworks are Theodor Aman’s Proclamation of the Union(from the collection of the National Museum of History of Romania) - valued at EUR 350,000, followed by Round-dance at Aninoasaby Theodor Aman (private collection) - valued at EUR 310,000, and Marcel Iancu’s Self-portrait(part of the permanent collection of the National Museum of Art of Romania) - valued at over EUR 300,000.

Now in its 9th year, Art Safari will be split into five exhibition pavilions with Romanian and international art. It will exhibit valuable artwork by Picasso and Dali and heritage art signed by Theodor Aman. Also, the public will have the chance to see an exhibition dedicated to the fantastic artist of the twentieth century and creator of the first modernist constructions in interwar Bucharest - Marcel Iancu.

Moreover, the exhibition of famous photographer Barbara Klemm will reveal document photos of West and East Germany before the unification and communist Romania. One of the stars of contemporary Romanian art, Irina Dragomir, will also have her own exhibition.

Art Safari will stay open until August 7, awaiting visitors at the Dacia-Romania Palace from Thursday to Sunday. Tickets and season tickets can be purchased from the event’s website or at the door.
