Those interested in exploring the Vacaresti Nature Park, the first urban protected area in Romania and also known as Bucharest’s Delta, can do so by registering for a free tour of the site.
The tours take place September 4, September 11, September 18 and September 25, between 9:30 and 12:30.
Those joining the tour can learn from the local guides and specialists from the Vacaresti Park the story of how nature brought back to life and abandoned urban area. The guides will answer questions on what the site looked like before it became a protected area and on the plans for it. Visitors will be shown the wild life and vegetation in the Park, and will also go up at the 17th floor of the Park’s observer for a view of the site.
Registrations for the tour can be made here.
This tour is free, but donations are welcome. Transport to the Park is done by metro. The tour is organized by Bucharest Walkabout free tours and Parcul Natural Vacaresti.
