Slovakia’s President to pay first state visit to Romania this October

Slovakia’s President Andrej Kiska will pay his first state visit to Romania this October. Mădălina Dobrovolschi, the Romanian Presidency spokesperson, made the announcement on Monday, September 26. “Andrej Kiska, the President of Slovakia, will be on a state visit to Romania in the first part of October. Obviously, we will provide more details about this visit in the next period,” she said. The visit will come almost one year after Romanian President Klaus Iohannis went on a two-day visit to Slovakia, on November 18-19, 2015. The two countries’ Presidents met at that time, and discussed important subjects such as the intensification of the bilateral economic cooperation, and energy security in Europe and the region. French President Francois Hollande visited Romanian two weeks ago. After the meeting with Klaus Iohannis, Hollande said that he feels like home in Romania.
