Romanian Police breaks crime ring who stole EUR 3.5 mln worth of perfumes in France

The Romanian Police has dismantled a crime group made of 28 people who specialized in stealing cosmetics from trucks stationed in parking lots in several EU countries. The group, which was mainly interested in perfumes, has stolen some EUR 3.5 million worth of cosmetics in France alone between 2015 and 2017. They also operated in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Poland, but the damages they caused in these countries hasn’t been calculated yet, according to a press release of the Romanian Police. The Police carried out 46 house searches in Bucharest and seven other counties, targeting the crime group’s members. During the searches, they arrested 14 people based on European Arrest Warrants issued by the French authorities. Seven other group members have been arrested in France, Germany, Italy, and Belgium.
