Former PM launches Romania 100 Platform, invites people to join his team

Former Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, together with some of the ministers in his cabinet, officially launched his Romania 100 Platform on Wednesday, May 10, and launched an invitation to all those interested in joining the organization. The Romania 100 Platform is presented as “an open, active citizenship movement aimed at transforming the Romanian civic and political environment and achieving Romania’s real development potential.” The project was initiated by Dacian Ciolos, together with nine ministers, secretaries and state councilors from the former technocrat government, as well as businessmen and public policy specialists. Among the founding members, there are Vlad Voiculescu (the health minister in the Ciolos Government), Dragos Pislaru (former labor minister in the same cabinet), Dragos Tudorache (former interior minister), and Alin Mituta, Ciolos's former chief of staff. “Change is possible and must begin with the way Romania is governed - transparently, openly, honestly, in dialogue with the people. Last year we started to do this together with a team of extraordinary, dedicated people, confident that Romania can achieve and deserves more. We are convinced that there are many, many people who believe the same thing. As a nation, we can do more than we have shown so far. Romania's change can only come from an active and massive citizen involvement. We invite you to join us, to join Romania 100 Platform. We invite you to change Romania. Together!,” the founding members said in a statement. At first, the movement will work as an on-line platform at www.ro100.ro and will be organized in social, civic, and public policy improvement communities. Then, in the coming period, the organization will publicly present the strategic themes and campaigns it intends to promote in the coming years. The Romania 100 Platform is an open organization that has its roots in the values ​​and principles of the Romania 100 Manifesto proposed to the political parties by the former Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș in the autumn of 2016.
