EC president Juncker to address the Romanian Parliament in May

Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission (EC), will address the Romanian Parliament on May 11, Senate president Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced on Tuesday. The EC president’s presence in Bucharest will mark ten years since Romania's accession to the European Union, reports local Mediafax. Jean-Claude Juncker will also attend a public debate on the future of the European Union, on May 11, at the National Art Museum (MNAR) in Bucharest. European Commission First Vice-President Frans Timmermans will also attend a similar debate in Bucharest on April 20. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will also address the Parliament next month, two days before Juncker. “On May 9, the Romanian President wants to address a message to the Parliament, marking Romania's 140 years of independence, and Europe Day,” Tariceanu said.
