Which were the best-selling car brands in Romania in the first eight months?

Over 119,000 new vehicles were sold in Romania in the first eight months of 2018, up by 22% compared to the same period of 2017. Passenger car sales increased by 24%, to 103,600 units, while commercial vehicle sales went up 11.7%, to 18,700 units, according to data from the Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association – APIA. The top selling brands overall were Dacia, with 32,900 units sold in the first eight months, followed by Volkswagen – 11,600 units, Ford – 9,100, Skoda – 8,950 and Renault – 8,800. The top selling passenger car models are all Dacia, namely Logan – 12,000 units sold, Duster – 8,000 and Sandero – 6,400. Electric car sales tripled in the first eight months, reaching 587 units, while hybrid car sales went up 54%, to 2,048 units.
