Oscar contenders screened in Bucharest this weekend

Several films that have been proposed for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Film category will be screened between January 19 and January 21 at the Elvire Popesco cinema in Bucharest. Five films will be screened at the event, titled Oscar Weekend. They are: 120 Battements par minute by Robin Campillo, Adrian Sitaru’s Fixeur, also Romania’s proposal for the 2018 Oscars, Loveless by Andrei Zvyagintsev, On Body and Soul by Ildiko Enyedi, and Happy End by Michael Haneke. Tickets can be purchased at eventbook.ro or at the Elvire Popesco cinema. The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 23. The awards ceremony takes place on March 4. editor@romania-insider.com
