World Bank estimates Romania’s economy will grow by 5.1% this year

Romania’s economy will increase by 5.1% this year, 4.5% in 2019 and 4.1% in 2020, according to the most recent World Bank forecast on the evolution of economies in Europe and Central Asia.

However, the imbalances in Romania’s economy will also grow, with the current account deficit reaching 4.3% of the GDP this year, 4.7% in 2019 and 4.9% in 2020.

“Growth remains solid in 2018, but the risks on the medium term have also increased,” reads the report.

“To improve the quality of growth, renewed attention must be granted to public investments,” according to the same document.
