Wizz Air flies almost three times more people to and from Sibiu

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, which is the largest airline in Romania based on the number of passengers, has carried over 250,000 passengers to and from Sibiu in the last 12 months. The number increased by 168% year-on-year.

Wizz Air began its operations on the Sibiu airport in 2014. In August last year, Sibiu became the company’s seventh operational base in Romania, with an investment of over USD 100 million.

Sibiu ranked fourth among Romania’s most visited counties, according to data provided by the company.

Wizz Air operates a fleet of 85 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
