About 100 small and medium-sized companies from the US will come to Bucharest this month, between October 18-20, to search for business opportunities in Romania, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
The event called “Trade Winds” is organized for the first time in Bucharest.
The US companies will have 3-5 meetings with Romanian businesses to discuss about possible business partnerships. The US investors are active in defense, automotive, security and agro-business, Greg O’Connor, regional trade counselor at the United States Embassy in Bucharest, said yesterday. The event is organized by the US Embassy in Bucharest.
Romanian companies need to pay a USD 350 tax to take part in the event. The available seats have already been occupied.
“The fact that Romania has had the highest economic growth in the EU and that it allocated 2% of the GDP for defense has sparked the interest of US investors,” Greg O’Connor said.
