Cable operator UPC Romania changes visual identity

Romanian cable operator UPC, the local subsidiary of the US group Liberty Global, has chosen a new visual identity, as part of a marketing campaign introducing new service packages as well.

The company will first introduce the new visual concept in its stores located in some of Romania’s big cities such as Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara or Iasi. UPC’s entire network of 100 stores will adopt the new visual identity by the end of the year.

UPC Romania is one of the largest cable operators in Romania. The company recorded a turnover of RON 597 million (EUR 126 million) last year, up 8% over the previous year. It saw a loss of RON 277.3 million (EUR 60.3 million) in 2016, up 20.4% over 2015.

The cable operator failed to record profit between 2006 and 2016. Its cumulated loss reached almost RON 3.4 billion (EUR 740 million) during this period.
