Transport Ministry to invest over EUR 1 bln in Constanta Port until 2030
Romania plans to invest EUR 1.1 billion in the Constanta Port until 2030.
The investments are provided in the governing program, as well as in Romania’s Transport Master Plan, Romanian transport minister Razvan Cuc said, reports local Capital.ro.
The money will be invested in new storage spaces and new container handling facilities. It will also be used to extend and modernize utilities in the port and develop specialized terminals. All investment plans have financing sources and the local administration can launch the procedures for public procurement, Cuc added.
In parallel to this process, Romania also needs to attract new flows of goods by better using the Danube - Main - Rhine European Corridor. This also includes tax facilities and less bureaucracy, the minister said.
