Swedish Skanska opens its second office building in Bucharest after EUR 35 mln investment

Swedish real estate development and construction group Skanska officially opened the second building of its Green Court office project in Bucharest on Thursday, September 10. The total investment in this new building was EUR 35 million, according to Skanska’s local representatives. The building has 18,000 sqm of leasable area on 12 floors and an underground parking with 315 places. It is currently 72% occupied by tenants such as retailer Carrefour Romania, drug producer Sanofi, consumer goods company Colgate-Palmolive Romania, HR company Adecco Romania, and RINF Outsourcing Solutions. “We plan to have the building fully let by the end of the year,” said Marcin Lapinski, President of Skanska Property Romania. The Swedish group already sold the first building of the Green Court project to real estate investment firm Globalworth for EUR 44 million. The transaction was completed in the first half of this year. The building’s main tenants are telecom group Orange and Schneider Electric. Skanska is currently working on the project’s third and final building. The Green Court project is located in Bucharest’s busiest office area, Barbu Vacarescu – Pipera, and its three buildings have a total leasable surface of 52,000 sqm. The Swedish group recently bought another land plot in the area where it plans to develop two other office buildings, according to Romanian media.
