Suspicious package triggers security alert at Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport

A suspicious package has triggered a security alert at Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport on Monday morning.

The Romanian Intelligence Service's bomb squad arrived at the scene to check the package, the area being secured, reports local Mediafax.

According to Antena 3, the suspicious package was a box left near a trash can. However, the security forces found that the package was not dangerous and that the alarm was false.

The incident didn’t affect the flights.
