One in three Romanians don’t read contracts before signing

Only 67% of Romanians carefully read contracts before signing them when buying a house, taking a loan or getting a job, according to a recent study by Provident Financial Romania. At the same time, 96% of Romanians consider it is very important to read carefully any document before signing it, even if this doesn’t always apply. Some 54% of the respondents admit they have gone through at least one situation where they signed a document without reading it. Still, 4 out of 5 people say they didn’t let anyone else sign in their place, regardless of the document, nor would they agree to do so in the future. The most important signature in a person's life is the one on the credit agreement, 26% of the respondents to the Provident survey said. Another 25% believe that the signature on the marriage certificate is the one that matters most. editor@romania-insider.com
