Romanians, more optimistic about EU economy than about the local one

Romanians are more optimistic about the evolution of the economy in the European Union (EU) than about Romania’s economic evolution, according to a recent Eurobarometer survey. The survey shows that 31% of Romanians believe the EU economy will have a positive evolution in the next 12 months, compared to only 21% of the Europeans. Meanwhile, only 27% of Romanians have positive expectations related to Romania’s economic evolution, compared to an EU average of 49%, local Agerpres reported. Only 54% of Romanians consider that the financial situation of their household is good, compared to a EU average of 71%, and 42% are happy with their job, compared to 61% of the Europeans. The growing inflation and rising living costs are the main concern among Romanians while Europeans are more concerned with migration and terrorism, the survey shows.
