Romanian President’s mother-in-law dies

Georgeta Lazurca, the mother-in-law of President Klaus Iohannis, passed away on Sunday, October 9, in Sibiu. She was 90 years old. The funeral will take place in Sibiu on Tuesday, October 11. The President has canceled his official program for this day, which also included the participation at an economic forum in Bucharest, alongside Slovakia’s President Andrej Kiska, as well as a visit to the Slovak community in Nadlac, Arad county. However, the Slovak President’s visit will take place as planned, reports local Agerpres. Former President Traian Basescu and Liviu Dragnea, the president of the Social Democratic Party have sent their condolences to the Iohannis family on Facebook.
