Romanian officials congratulate new French President

Emmanuel Macron, the candidate of En Marche!, won the presidential elections in France yesterday with over 65% of the votes, defeating the extreme-right candidate Marine Le Pen. Macron, who is 39, became the youngest president in the history of the 5th Republic. Pen admitted her defeat in a speech held right after the closing of the ballot boxes. Romanian president Klaus Iohannis wrote a message in French on Twitter yesterday evening, congratulating Emmanuel Macron for the victory in the presidential elections. Iohannis also said that the strategic partnership between the two countries should continue.
