The First Lady of Romania, Mirabela Grădinaru, met on Tuesday, August 25, with a UNICEF delegation led by Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF Regional Director for Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss promoting children's rights and strengthening the participation of children and young people in decisions that affect their lives.
The discussions highlighted the progress made by Romania in promoting the views of children and young people in the public decision-making process, including through legislation adopted in 2024, which strengthens children's opportunities to contribute to the development of policies and legislation that concern them.
